Hi, I’m Freddy. A young entrepreneurial guy, caught between being an optimist at heart and feeling hopeless about so many things in the world. Welcome to my dumpster-fire stream-of-consciousness.
Despite having different opinions, I’m optimistic that we will learn to listen to each other again.
I’m optimistic that we can figure out a way to make the internet more unifying than radicalizing.
And I’m optimistic that future generations will lead with integrity and authenticity based on transparent values and beliefs.
I have to constantly remind myself of that innate optimism when I find myself feeling hopeless about all the lies, manipulation, and radicalization we’re all subject to. All the time.
This is my dumpster-fire stream-of-conscience where I write out my thoughts as they come, argue my viewpoints, and unapologetically talk about whatever comes to mind when I hit the keyboard.
For some reason I can’t fully articulate, I find it increasingly important to publicly document my perspectives, arguments, and experiences.
I think it might have something to do with holding myself accountable for what I say and believe in this world where popular opinions change with the wind.
It’s also partly to engage in the public discourse in a way that does not add to the shouting match on SoMe.
And in some sense, I want to protect my future self from becoming dismissible by the fact that I’ve kept my (unpopular) opinions to myself until they’ve become mainstream. Having a clear and public record here will hopefully force me to stay well-researched and have my arguments in line before taking on a belief. It will also make it difficult to doubt how my perspectives were and inevitably will change over time.
This is my outlet, and I write stuff here for me, not for you or your approval. You are welcome to join the conversation if you are willing to be a good sport. Especially if we disagree - which we eventually will, as you are not me, and I am not you. However, I won’t engage in trolling or disrespectful internet BS. If that’s your contribution, you can take it out on Reddit or throw it straight in the trash where it belongs.
Should you choose to hang around, welcome, my friend.
